Branch Associate at Johnson Memorial Library

· 30 hours/week (days, evenings, and weekends) at Johnson Memorial Library, Hicksville

· Starting range $16.65 - $17.32/ hour

Ideal applicants should have experience with libraries or customer service and exhibit an interest in life-long learning and gaining professional skills.

DUTIES:

Assisting the public in using the library, staffing the public desk, planning and conducting children’s programs, and assisting in maintaining the children’s collection, among other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Great people skills and enthusiasm for working with children and families. An even-keeled temperament and skill handling the unexpected. Ability to work both as part of a team and independently. Comfort using technology and written and oral communications. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree and at least two years of library or customer service experience preferred.
