Position Overview

Saint Leo the Great Catholic School is seeking an enthusiastic, mission-driven Library Information Specialist to join our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a library program aligned with Diocese of Arlington guidelines
• Collaborate with teachers and administrators to integrate literacy, research, and inquiry across all grade levels
• Foster a love of reading and promote lifelong learning
• Teach information literacy, digital citizenship, and ethical use of resources
• Curate and manage library collections based on curriculum and student needs
• Integrate technology and innovative tools to enhance learning
• Support faculty in embedding critical thinking and research skills into instruction
• Maintain an organized, welcoming, and accessible library environment
• Guide students and families in locating, evaluating, and using resources effectively
• Promote literacy initiatives and school-wide reading culture

Qualifications

Required:

• VA license or VCEA certification
• Alignment with the mission of Catholic education
• Bachelor’s degree minimum
• Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
• Passion for working with children and fostering a love of learning

Preferred:

• Library Science background or certification
• Experience in a school or educational setting
• Familiarity with instructional technology and digital resources
• Practicing Catholic (preferred)
