Library Intern

Do you want to gain school library experience? Abington Friends School in Jenkintown, PA is offering a chance for you to do just that! Previous interns have gained full-time employment at many different types of libraries.

The ideal candidate for this position is a current student in a master’s degree program in Library or Information Science, with a school library concentration.

Duties may include:

• Circulation of materials
• Shelving
• Cataloging new items
• Display creation
• Assisting patrons with research and book recommendations
• Archival work
• Maintaining a quiet, inviting space for student work

The library intern will be an integral part of our library staff. There will be opportunities to take on more responsibilities as the school year progresses. This internship can accommodate many interests and is compatible with coursework. This is a 25 hour per week position paying $15.00 an hour, when school is in session. This position will be for the 2026-2027 school year, beginning in September 2026.
