SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary placement based on education and verified contracted teaching experience accepted. Salary Range: $53,283.00 to $83,813.00. Employer-paid retirement, health and life insurance, sick leave benefits and personal leave.
Must possess a Nevada license endorsed for the specific subject(s) and to perform other educational functions at the level and in the field for which he/she is to be employed, issued in accordance with law and in full force at the time the services are rendered. (NRS 391.170). All applicants must meet all highly qualified requirements. Bilingual preferred.
Must be able to pass the pre-employment drug screen test.

Summary
The teacher will implement into daily student instruction ensuring appropriate educational curriculum based
on the Nevada State Standards. The teacher will create and maintain an educational atmosphere that encourages effective student learning and supports school and district programs and goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Administer appropriate district curriculum which is aligned with the Nevada State Standards.
Ensure the opportunity for all students to learn in a supportive environment developing attitudes, habits, and skills leading to lifelong library use.
Create and maintain a positive, orderly, and academically focused learning condition in the library media center.
Assist teachers integrating library media center services and instruction with classroom instruction.
Collaborate with teachers to develop library media center resources.
Provide instruction collaboratively with classroom teacher of record.
Develop a balanced collection of print and electronic resources representative of diverse points of view.
Provide an environment that fosters library use by students and staff.
Ensure a relevant professional library promoting the professional development of the faculty and staff.
Develop a library media climate that promotes positive learning conditions.
Work professionally with administrators, staff, parents, and community.
Integrate technology into the instructional program.
Develop and maintain a manual of library policies and procedures.
Participate in other job-related duties and activities related to the position as assigned.
POSITION EXPECTATIONS:

Maintain accurate and complete records as required by law and district policy.

Facilitate student development of independent library information skills.
Offer faculty in-service sessions in the area of information literacy, electronic, and online resources.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as handbooks and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine
reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of students and staff.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages,
area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral,

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
State of Nevada Teacher's license, current driver's license, original social security card. Must hold, or be able to
hold, an endorsement in K-12 School Library Media Specialist.
