Job Summary
As a Library RFID Technician, you will work alongside a project team applying new barcodes and radio frequency identification (RFID) tags to items within multiple school libraries. This will involve pulling books from their shelves, updating their barcode information in their catalog record, applying a new RFID tag to them, encoding that tag according to processing guidelines, and replacing the books back onto their shelves in the same order they were pulled. The Library RFID technician is expected to maintain achievable production goals while ensuring high-quality results. The project is scheduled to start on June 22, 2026, and is estimated to last up to eight weeks. Reliable transportation is a must as the project involves onsite work at multiple libraries across Delaware.
Responsibilities
· Follow proper materials handling guidelines to ensure the preservation of library materials.
· Accurately scan new barcodes into catalog records and apply those barcodes to books according to provided barcoding guidelines.
· Apply and encode RFID tags to library materials according to provided tagging guidelines.
· Operate equipment in accordance with approved procedures and project guidelines.
Required Qualifications
· High School diploma or equivalent.
· Familiarity with basic computer skills including typing, web browsing, and file management.
· Ability to perform repetitive tasks consistently and accurately.
· Strong organizational skills.
· Exceptional attention to detail.
· Quick learner with the ability to adapt to new tasks.
· Professional attitude and excellent work ethic.
· Reliable transportation for commuting to the workplaces.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience in a related field.
· Experience working in a library environment.
· Experience in a production-oriented setting, demonstrating efficiency and meeting deadlines.
