RPL, a division of the City of Rochester, MN, is a very busy downtown library and bookmobile (with more than 57,000 cardholders, over 1.8 million of collection use annually and the busiest bookmobile in the state of Minnesota). RPL serves the City of Rochester, Olmsted County, and visitors from all over the world.

The Rochester Public Library seeks an energetic, detail-oriented, friendly person to fill a temporary shelving position. The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to set priorities and be flexible while working with occasional interruptions. This individual should work independently, steadily, and efficiently for an extended period of time.”
Schedule: This position will work up to 25 hours per week from June - September 2026, based on availability and needs. The hours will be primarily nights (4:00pm-8:00pm) and weekends.
The Library is open until 8:00 p.m. Monday–Thursday and 6:00 p.m. Friday–Sunday.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CRITERIA

Continuous demands: Simultaneous use and repetitive movements of hands, wrists, and fingers often required in performing data entry tasks and shelving materials.

Sensory requirements necessary in the performance of the essential functions of this position include: sight, hearing, and touch.
