Through an ever-deepening relationship with Christ, our mission at St. Joseph School is to become who He made us to be, by growing in character, loving our neighbor, and excelling in academics. Like our patron, the St. Joseph family is entrusted with fostering the development of the mind, body, and spirit of each of God’s precious children in our care. St. Joseph School has 442 students (pre-K through 8th grade), with average class sizes of 21, in the north Oakland County town of Lake Orion. St. Joseph is a parish school that has been offering a Catholic education since 1952. We pride ourselves on our family atmosphere, emphasis on faith, and high academic standards.
Oxford Community Schools, providing the Shared Time specials program at St. Joseph School, seeks an enthusiastic and caring educator to teach WIN ("What I Need") in the Library. The “What I Need” (WIN) Specials teacher will serve students in a life skills-focused curriculum, including media center/library time and a variety of other life skills. Kindergarten through fifth grade classes will participate in three 30-minute classes per week, with pre-k and middle school classes visiting, as needed. An ideal candidate would possess strong communication and teaching skills, a willingness to take on extracurricular roles and responsibilities, and a servant's heart. Although previous experience is preferred, recent college graduates will be considered.
