Position Overview
Rubix Health is seeking a fully licensed Clinical Psychologist with experience in neuropsychological assessment to conduct comprehensive telehealth-based evaluations for adult and geriatric patients. This is a remote 1099 independent contractor opportunity offering flexible scheduling and a minimum commitment of 8 hours per week.
The psychologist will primarily evaluate individuals referred following motor vehicle accidents, traumatic injuries, concussions, and other neurological or cognitive concerns. The primary purpose of these evaluations is to assess and rule out cognitive deficits related to memory, attention, reasoning, executive functioning, processing speed, and other areas of neurocognitive functioning.
Primary Responsibilities
Clinical Evaluation
- Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations via telehealth.
- Complete diagnostic interviews and obtain relevant medical, psychiatric, educational, occupational, and psychosocial histories.
- Assess cognitive, emotional, behavioral, and functional functioning.
- Evaluate patients for potential deficits involving:
- Memory and learning
- Attention and concentration
- Reasoning and problem-solving
- Executive functioning
- Processing speed
- Language functioning
- Visuospatial abilities
- Fine motor functioning
- Emotional and psychological adjustment
Typical Referral Concerns
- Cognitive complaints following motor vehicle accidents
- Concussion and post-concussive symptoms
- Traumatic brain injury (TBI)
- Chronic pain-related concerns
- Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)
- Dementia and neurodegenerative disorders
- ADHD and attentional disorders
- Depression, anxiety, and other psychiatric conditions impacting cognition
- Neurological and medical conditions affecting cognitive functioning
- Functional capacity and disability-related evaluations
Assessment Administration and Interpretation
- Administer, score, interpret, and integrate findings from neuropsychological and psychological measures, including:
- Cognitive and Neuropsychological Measures
- Emotional and Behavioral Measures
Medical Record Review
- Review and integrate medical records, imaging reports, neurological evaluations, pain management records, EMG studies, rehabilitation records, and prior psychological or neuropsychological assessments.
- Utilize collateral information and supporting documentation to assist with diagnostic clarification and treatment recommendations.
Report Writing and Feedback
- Prepare comprehensive neuropsychological evaluation reports.
- Develop diagnostic impressions and differential diagnoses.
- Provide treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-work recommendations when appropriate.
- Conduct feedback sessions with patients and families as needed.
- Communicate findings effectively to referral sources and healthcare providers.
Qualifications
Required
- Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current unrestricted psychologist license in the state of Michigan.
- Experience conducting neuropsychological and psychological evaluations with adult and geriatric populations.
- Strong report-writing, assessment, and diagnostic skills.
- Experience utilizing telehealth technology.
- Ability to work independently and manage a flexible caseload.
