Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Licensed Commercial Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems across commercial construction sites and renovation projects. Your expertise will ensure that all electrical work complies with safety standards, local codes, and the National Electrical Code (NEC). Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial buildings, including low voltage and high voltage applications.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics to accurately execute electrical installations.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing equipment to diagnose electrical issues effectively.
- Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and industrial electrical systems to support automation and control functions.
- Follow all safety protocols in accordance with NEC standards and local regulations while working on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other trades such as frame carpentry or handyman services to ensure seamless project execution.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical systems during construction or renovation phases to ensure quality and compliance.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including inspection reports and schematic updates.
- Assist in the installation of low voltage systems such as security alarms or communication networks when required.
- Support team members with technical guidance on schematics reading, blueprint interpretation, and troubleshooting techniques.
Experience
- Valid license as a Commercial Journeyman Electrician with proven experience in industrial and commercial electrical projects.
- Extensive hands-on experience working on construction sites involving new installations or renovations.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings related to electrical systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of NEC standards, high voltage and low voltage wiring practices.
- Experience working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and industrial automation systems is highly desirable.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills; testing equipment like ohmmeters; and power saws.
- Familiarity with renovation projects that require framing carpentry or handyman skills is a plus.
