QE Solar is seeking a Licensed Equipment Operator to support field operations and maintenance

activities at utility-scale solar facilities. This role is responsible for operating heavy equipment to assist

with site preparation, road maintenance, vegetation clearing, trenching, and other infrastructure work

necessary to maintain safe and efficient solar operations. The ideal candidate has experience operating

construction or agricultural equipment and is committed to maintaining high safety standards while

working in outdoor environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment including skid steers, excavators, backhoes, graders, tractors, and

compact loaders to support solar site maintenance and construction activities.

• Perform site grading, trenching, road maintenance, drainage work, and vegetation clearing around

solar arrays and infrastructure.

• Assist with installation and repair of underground conduit, fencing, access roads, and drainage

systems.

• Conduct daily equipment inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure safe operation.

• Follow all OSHA safety standards and QE Solar safety policies while operating equipment.

• Work closely with site managers and field technicians to support operational needs.

• Transport equipment between job sites as required.

• Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance, and inspections.

• Identify potential safety hazards and report issues to supervisors.

• Support additional site maintenance and operational tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid equipment operator certification or license (state or industry-recognized).

• 2+ years of experience operating construction or heavy equipment.

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

• Ability to safely operate equipment in uneven terrain and outdoor environments.

• Knowledge of basic equipment maintenance and safety procedures.

• Ability to read site plans and follow project instructions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on solar energy or utility infrastructure projects.

• CDL (Commercial Driver’s License).

• Experience with trenching for electrical or utility installations.

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.

Travel

Travel may be required to multiple solar sites within the assigned region.

This position requires:

Working in indoor and outdoor environments, including solar sites, construction sites, and industrial facilities, in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, etc.)
Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, and climbing on uneven terrain
Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment up to 50 pounds or more, with or without assistance
Use of hands and fingers to operate tools, testing equipment, and technical devices with precision
Ability to safely climb ladders, scaffolding, and work at heights
Ability to work in confined spaces and near energized equipment while maintaining strict adherence to safety protocols
Visual acuity to read blueprints, schematics, and technical documents, and to identify potential hazards
Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hats, safety glasses, gloves, harnesses, arc-flash protection, and other job-specific gear
Effective verbal communication skills to coordinate with team members, supervisors, and other trades in active work environments

The pay range for this role is:
30 - 38 USD per hour(West Palm Beach, FL)
30 - 38 USD per hour(Tifton, GA)
