Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic mental health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will help clients navigate emotional challenges, develop coping strategies, and achieve their wellness goals through evidence-based therapeutic interventions. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in individuals’ lives while working in a supportive and collaborative environment. This position is fully remote with a flexible schedule with expectations of seeing clients on some Saturday.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough intake assessments to evaluate clients’ mental health needs using standardized diagnostic tools and ICD-10 coding for accurate documentation.
  • Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions utilizing therapeutic modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
  • Implement crisis intervention strategies to manage acute psychiatric emergencies effectively and ensure client safety.
  • Engage in case management activities, including treatment planning, progress monitoring, and coordination with other healthcare providers to optimize patient care.
  • Maintain detailed clinical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring accurate documentation of medical terminology and clinical notes.
  • Utilize Simple Practice telehealth platforms to provide remote counseling services while adhering to all clinical standards and confidentiality protocols.
  • Conduct behavioral health assessments for patients with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), incorporating ICD coding and behavioral management techniques.
  • Stay current with clinical research developments and best practices in mental health counseling to continually enhance service quality.

Qualifications

  • Valid state licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC or equivalent) with certification in psychotherapy and or clinical mental health counseling.
  • Proven experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in outpatient or inpatient settings; pediatric experience is highly valued.
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapies including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, grief counseling, PTSD care, addiction counseling, and gender issues counseling.
  • Experience with crisis management, crisis intervention techniques, and behavior management strategies for individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges.
  • Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and medical documentation accuracy.
  • Proficiency in telehealth technology platforms along with excellent communication skills for effective patient engagement remotely.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and familiarity with HIPAA regulations governing patient privacy.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams including social workers, special education professionals, and medical staff.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development through participation in clinical research or continuing education opportunities related to mental health treatment modalities. Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour

  • Master's (Preferred)
