<Job Summary>
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic behavioral health team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to diverse populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and seniors. Your expertise will support individuals facing a range of challenges such as trauma, developmental disabilities, addiction, grief, and chronic pain. You will conduct assessments, develop personalized treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based therapies through in-person and telehealth platforms. <Responsibilities>
- Conduct thorough clinical assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to accurately identify mental health conditions.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans incorporating psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Provide direct support through individual, group, family, and crisis intervention sessions tailored to client needs.
- Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to foster client engagement and promote positive behavioral change.
- Manage crisis situations effectively by applying crisis management protocols and behavior management strategies to ensure client safety.
- Document all patient interactions accurately in medical records following HIPAA guidelines and medical terminology standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, case managers, educators, and medical professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Engage in clinical research activities when applicable to enhance evidence-based practices within the organization.
- Offer specialized counseling services addressing PTSD care, addiction recovery, grief counseling, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
- Stay current with ICD coding updates and maintain proficiency in telehealth experience to deliver seamless virtual care.
<Requirements>
- Valid licensure as a Mental Health Counselor or equivalent (e.g., LPC, LMHC, LCSW) in the state of practice.
- Proven experience providing psychotherapy across diverse settings such as outpatient clinics or inpatient facilities.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health treatments including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, behavioral therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with disabilities—including autism—and geriatrics is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and crisis management protocols essential for client safety.
- Ability to utilize ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic documentation; experience with CPT coding is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for intake assessments, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards required for maintaining confidentiality and compliance.
- Telehealth experience preferred; ability to adapt clinical skills for virtual environments effectively.
- Additional skills such as social work background, research involvement, or experience in hospital settings are advantageous. Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
