Licensed Mental Health Counselor

Portneuf Valley Family Center Inc. has an immediate opening for a Professional Therapist / Licensed Mental Health Counselor in our Pocatello, Idaho office.

We are a full-service mental health clinic with a collaborative team of clinical professionals including a Psychiatrist, Physician’s Assistant, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Therapists, CBRS, and Case Managers.

At Portneuf Valley Family Center, we provide individual, couple, and family counseling through both in-person and telehealth services to meet the needs of our growing community.

We also proudly participate in the National Health Service Corps (NHSC) Loan Forgiveness Program, offering:

  • $55,000 loan repayment for a full-time, 2-year commitment, or
  • $30,000 loan repayment for a part-time, 2-year commitment.

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC, LCPC), or Licensed Master Level Social Worker (LMSW, LCSW) to join our expanding team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families through emotional, behavioral, and life challenges.

Supervisory positions are available.

You will provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, maintain detailed documentation, and collaborate closely with our interdisciplinary team to ensure positive outcomes and high-quality client care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide therapy to individuals, couples, and families using evidence-based modalities.
  • Monitor client progress, evaluate outcomes, and modify treatment as needed.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and other care providers.
  • Participate in case consultations, trainings, and clinical meetings.
  • Deliver both in-person and Telehealth counseling sessions.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or higher in Counseling, or Social Work.
  • Active State of Idaho Licensure.
  • Experienced counselors, social workers, and new graduates.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care and evidence-based therapeutic practices (CBT, DBT, etc.).
  • Proficiency in EHR systems and Telehealth platforms is a plus.
