Reports To: Nurse Supervisor / Director of Nursing (DON)
Position Type: Part-Time | Hourly

Wellspring Lutheran Services is a statewide nonprofit dedicated to serving seniors, families and children throughout Michigan. We are currently seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Covenant Skilled Nursing and Rehab at Wellspring team in Saginaw.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality nursing care to residents in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice and individuality.
• Perform all responsibilities according to prescribed safety and infection control procedures including hand washing, glove use and proper disposal of materials.
• Make daily resident visits to observe and evaluate physical and emotional status.
• Receive report from the off-going nurse and provide report to the on-coming nurse.
• Give report to the medical team for the shift.
• Report changes of condition, abnormal lab results, concerns and new admissions to the physician.
• Report changes of condition, abnormal labs and injury-related falls to the physician and responsible party.
• Receive, implement and document new physician orders and update resident care plans.
• Administer medications timely and follow stop-order procedures according to policy.

Qualifications

• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing with the State of Michigan (required).
• Successful completion of an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program (required).
• Two years of nursing experience in short-term or long-term care, home health, medical, surgical or critical care (preferred).
• Compassionate, dependable and team-oriented.

Schedule and Compensation

• Employment type: Part-time
• Shift: Day shift (6am-6pm)
• Schedule: Self-scheduling
• Weekends and holidays: Every third weekend and every third holiday
• Pay Rate: $29.40 – $32.15/hour, based on experience and licensure
• Additional pay: $5.00/hour midnight shift differential
• Sign-on bonus: $2,500.00
