The Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) provides professional mental health counseling services to patients experiencing emotional, behavioral, psychological, or substance-related concerns. The LPC conducts assessments, develops treatment plans, provides individual and group therapy, and collaborates with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote patient wellness and recovery.
Job Qualifications:
Education:

Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field from an accredited institution.
Licensure:
-
Current, active Texas Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) license in good standing.

LPC-Associate candidates may be considered if supervision is available (if applicable to your facility).
Experience:

Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical counseling experience preferred.

Experience in a hospital, rural health clinic, or integrated healthcare setting preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive psychosocial and behavioral health assessments.

Develop, implement, and monitor individualized treatment plans.

Provide individual, family, and group counseling services.

Maintain accurate, timely, and complete clinical documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Coordinate care with physicians, APRNs, social workers, case managers, and other healthcare professionals.

Provide crisis intervention and risk assessment, including suicide risk evaluations.

Educate patients and families regarding mental health conditions, coping strategies, and community resources.

Participate in treatment team meetings and case conferences.

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations.

Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education.
