We are expanding our nursing team by seeking a highly qualified, and experienced LVN to work part-time in our endovascular, office based lab (OBL) practice located in the South Bay. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience working as a LVN in a busy vascular (or cardiovascular) practice, have pre-op and post-op experience. Acute or prehospital care or EMT experience a plus! The LVN will work under direct supervision of our MD, NP, and RNs. Our LVN will work primarily in the PACU supporting our RNs with pre and post procedure patients in our OBL. IV Certification and experience with hard stick patients is a must. Must be able to follow protocols per accreditations standards, maintain a professional demeanor with patients and team members, maintain a clean and safe environment for patients, keep timely records, communicate effectively, and willing to support other areas of the clinic as needed.
Qualifications:
- Licensed as a Vocational Nurse by The California Board of Vocation Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians (BVNPT): Required Highest Level of Education Required: Associates Degree
- Highest Level of Education Required: High School Degree or equivalent
- Associates Degree: Preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR): Required
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Required
- Minimum two-years experience as a LVN: Required
- IV Certification: Required
- Cardiovascular and/or peripheral vascular disease experience: Preferred
- One year experience with pre/post-op outpatient interventional procedures: Preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin): Preferred
- Persistent to detail, thorough and exact
- In good physical and mental health
Specific Duties:
- Maintain orderly, efficient, and timely flow of patients
- Provide instruction to patients and family regarding medications and treatment as indicated by MD/NP
- Assess patient/family level of understanding to enhance effective communication and education
- Provide specialized nursing care to endovascular patients as necessary for in-office treatment
- Screen patients for appropriate clinical information, accurately document vitals, condition, medications, and other relevant medical information using EMR system
- Instruct patients in collection of samples and inform them of diagnostic tests/procedures
- Support surgery scheduling, as needed
- Respond to incoming telephone calls from patients, families, referring offices, hospitals, etc.
- Prepare patients for and recover patients following outpatient endovascular interventions
- Circulate during outpatient endovascular interventions when needed
- Assess patients for potential complications during peri-procedure and post-procedure times
- Provide post-procedure instructions to patient, family, and/or caregiver prior to discharge
- Maintain procedure logs and other documentation necessary for accreditation purposes
- Provide compassionate, professional patient care and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment
- Provide continuity of care while communicating with all team members
