TITLE: Welcome Center Receptionist

REPORTS TO: COO
PAY RANGE: $17.50 - $20.00/hour

Summary/Objective:
This position is the welcoming presence and friendly voice as the first point of contact for guests and callers to Life Center. The Welcome Center is the face and voice of Life Center, so this first impression is vitally important. The Welcome Center staff must portray a calm, welcoming, and professional attitude toward everyone, especially during multiple demands at one time. The Welcome Center is to give information as needed, direct guests and callers to the appropriate person, and/or assist them in finding answers to their inquiries.

Supervisory Responsibility:
This role does not have a supervisory component.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain coverage at the front desk during business hours.
  • Answer incoming phone calls, answer basic questions, assist with the appropriate information, and/or transfer callers to appropriate extension.
  • Welcome guests of the church and school campus and provide basic directions.
  • Check in guests for appointments and notify staff members.
  • Manage, write, and record voicemail greetings for switchboard, information line, and shared extensions.
  • Check the church events page or CCB scheduling system for information about events taking place.
  • Sell merchandise and church event tickets on appropriate platforms.
  • Facilitate incoming and outgoing deliveries with commercial carriers.
  • Communicate with Facilities Team and Security for a variety of needs.
  • This position is a strategic point person for campus security.
  • Provide administrative support for campus ministries.
  • Other reasonable duties as requested and assigned.

Character/Role Competencies

  • Customer service oriented and ability to maintain a pleasant attitude.
  • Experience with or ability to quickly learn multi-line phone system.
  • Proficient level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Proficient level computer skills to use current HRIS/timeclock, internet, staff intranet, etc.

Education, Experience, Certifications and Licensure

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of practical experience in relevant field.

Physical Demands

  • Sitting (or standing) at a desk/computer for prolonged periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Speaking for several minutes at a time.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment and Travel

  • This job operates in a professional office and ministry environment.
  • This role routinely interacts with staff, volunteers, and guests.
  • The primary campus location for this role: Central
  • Travel is not anticipated for this role.

Hours and Schedule

Part Time: 16-25 hours per week, which includes:

  • Tuesday 8:30am-4:30pm, Wednesday and Thursday 12:30pm-4:30pm, and possible Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. Schedule will be determined upon hire.
  • Requires occasional evening and weekend work pertaining to ministry’s needs and events as scheduled in advance.
  • Attendance at the following staff meetings is required for this role: Annual Reset, Annual Meeting, All Staff Trainings, recurring meetings as required, and additional meetings as requested.
