Lifting Equipment Technician / Hoist & Winch Service Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lifting Equipment Technician specializing in hoists, winches, and material handling equipment to join our technical services team. The role involves installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical hoists, marine winches, subsea winches, and crane systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards and operational reliability.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance & Service

• Perform preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance on lifting equipment including electrical hoists, marine hoists, winches, cranes, and material handling systems.
• Conduct detailed mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of hoists, winches, cranes, and lifting machinery.
• Execute load testing and functional testing of lifting equipment after maintenance or repair.
• Inspect, service, and certify lifting gear, rigging equipment, and load monitoring systems.

Electrical & Control Systems

• Carry out control panel wiring, fault diagnosis, and corrective actions.
• Install, program, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and control circuits.
• Maintain and calibrate load monitoring and safety systems.

Inspection & Compliance

• Perform routine lifting equipment inspections in compliance with international safety standards and client specifications.
• Prepare technical reports, inspection documentation, and service records.
• Support third-party audits, certifications, and compliance activities.

Installation & Commissioning

• Install, commission, and test industrial lifting solutions, including hoists, winches, cranes, and related material handling equipment.
• Support on-site project execution for marine, offshore, and industrial operations.

Safety & Quality

• Follow company HSE procedures and ensure all work meets industry safety standards.
• Identify risks and recommend corrective and preventive measures.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of electrical hoists, marine winches, subsea winches, and cranes
• Expertise in:
• Preventive & breakdown maintenance
• Mechanical troubleshooting
• Electrical systems & control panel wiring
• VFDs and automation controls
• Load testing & load monitoring systems
• Rigging and lifting gear inspection
• Familiarity with material handling equipment and industrial lifting solutions

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma / ITI / Technical Certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering
• 3–7+ years of hands-on experience in servicing:
• Hoists, winches, cranes, and lifting equipment
• Marine or offshore lifting systems (preferred)
• Valid certifications in lifting equipment inspection, rigging, or related industry standards are an advantage
