Employment Type: Full-time

🎬 About The Role

We are looking for a diligent, hands-on, and quick-learning Lighting & Camera Assistant to support our cinematography and production teams during live shoots.

This is a foundational technical role that offers deep exposure to professional filmmaking and production workflows. From lighting setups and rig prep to on-set operations and equipment handling, you’ll play a key part in helping bring each visual story to life.

You’ll work closely with cinematographers, lighting designers, and production leads , building the skills and discipline essential for advancing into future camera or lighting design roles.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

Lighting Setup & Management

  • Assist in setting up and adjusting lighting equipment including stands, softboxes, reflectors, gels, and modifiers.
  • Understand lighting directions (key, fill, rim, ambient) and execute lighting changes during live shoots.

Camera Preparation & Support

  • Help assemble camera rigs, mount lenses, prep accessories, and power up camera systems.
  • Maintain readiness of all gear before each shoot — batteries, SD cards, tripods, and cables.

Power & Cable Management

  • Handle safe power distribution and routing using extension boxes and cable ties.
  • Keep cables neatly managed and secured to ensure crew safety and workflow efficiency.

On-Shoot Assistance

  • Be the on-set support for cinematographers — repositioning stands, adjusting lights, changing batteries, and prepping lenses.
  • Stay alert, responsive, and proactive during shoots, anticipating team needs.

Equipment Transport & Safety

  • Safely carry, load, and organize camera and lighting gear for indoor/outdoor shoots.
  • Ensure equipment is packed, labeled, and protected during travel and storage.

Maintenance & Post-Shoot Tasks

  • Assist with cleaning and inspecting equipment after every shoot.
  • Support data management — transferring footage and labeling drives when needed.

🧠 Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience: 0–2 years of experience in film or video production (internship/freelance experience accepted).
  • Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of lighting behavior (soft vs. hard light, color temperature, diffusion).
  • Equipment Familiarity: Hands-on experience with tripods, LED panels, DSLRs, or cinema cameras preferred.
  • Physical Readiness: Must be comfortable lifting and moving heavy production gear.
  • Soft Skills: Calm under pressure, efficient communicator, and reliable team player.
  • Growth Mindset: Passionate about learning cinematography, lighting design, or production operations.

🌟 What You’ll Gain

  • Hands-on experience with professional camera and lighting equipment.
  • Direct mentorship from experienced cinematographers and production leads.
  • Travel opportunities across campus shoots, events, and branded content projects.
  • Exposure to end-to-end video production pipelines in a fast-growing EdTech brand.
  • A career growth path into cinematography, gaffer, or camera operator roles.
