Stone House is a historic venue and creative space in downtown Nevada City, CA, hosting private events, live performances, immersive experiences, and community gatherings. We are passionate about artful design, music, and storytelling—and we’re expanding our production team to include a visionary Lighting Designer.

What We’re Looking For

We're seeking a multi-disciplinary Lighting Designer who can bring intentional atmosphere and visual magic to our space. You’ll be responsible for creating lighting environments for stage shows, video/photo shoots, interior ambience, and set designs for immersive experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and program lighting for live music, performances, and private events
• Collaborate with photographers/videographers for lighting setups during shoots
• Develop ambient lighting design for interior spaces and curated experiences
• Work with our set design and creative teams to light installations, art pieces, and themed environments
• Manage and maintain lighting equipment (DMX, LEDs, rigging, etc.)
• Operate lighting consoles during events or train team members to do so
• Stay on-site during events as needed to support lighting needs

Qualifications

• Experience in stage lighting, video/photo lighting, interior/environmental lighting, and/or set design lighting
• Proficiency in lighting software (e.g., Lightwright, ETC, GrandMA, DMX programming, etc.)
• Strong eye for mood, tone, and design
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a creative setting
• Familiarity with rigging, power, and safety standards

Compensation

• Hourly Rate: $20–$40/hour DOE
• Some flat-rate project work may also be available
• Access to creative space, events, and an inspiring local artist community

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
