Duties

  • Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Assist in menu planning by suggesting new dishes or modifications based on ingredient availability and customer preferences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage practices to meet safety regulations.
  • Use knife skills and culinary techniques to prepare ingredients efficiently for cooking or plating.
  • Support food safety protocols by adhering to sanitation standards, proper food handling procedures, and HACCP guidelines.
  • Collaborate with team members during meal preparation, catering events, or special service periods to deliver excellent food service.
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when restocking is needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience working in a restaurant or food industry environment, especially in fine dining or catering settings.
  • Strong food preparation, cooking, and food handling skills with an emphasis on safety and hygiene.
  • Knowledge of menu planning, meal preparation, and serving techniques.
  • Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various culinary tools and equipment.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
