Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef/cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the food industry, with a strong background in fast-casual, catering, and food service management. As a Chef, you will oversee kitchen operations and ensure that all dishes are prepared to perfection. We are hiring a chef/cook for a new restaurant concept specializing in a mix of Chinese and Mexican flavors. The role involves preparing dishes, maintaining consistency and quality, and working in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures.
  • Oversee food preparation processes to maintain quality standards and presentation.
  • Monitor kitchen operations to ensure smooth workflow during service periods.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chef, ideally with experience with Chinese wok dishes and/or Mexican cuisine
  • Expertise in food production techniques and inventory management.
  • Exceptional cooking skills with knowledge of various cuisines and presentation styles.
  • Familiarity with food service management principles and hospitality standards.
  • Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration within the kitchen team.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Food handler’s certification is a plus

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $14.00 - $19.00 per hour
