Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times
- Assist in menu planning and development, offering creative ideas for seasonal dishes
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting shortages as needed
- Participate in catering events as required, ensuring high-quality food service
Skills
- Proven experience in a culinary role, preferably within fine dining or restaurant settings
- Strong food preparation skills with an emphasis on cooking techniques and knife skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for food handling
- Experience in menu planning and meal preparation is highly desirable
- Background in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff
