Sandwich Maker / Line Cook

Olmo is a small, quick-service restaurant that specializes in bagel sandwiches and is located in New Haven, CT. We are looking for a Sandwich Maker ideally with Line Cook experience to join our team.

The ideal candidate has a positive, hospitality-oriented personality, preferably with line cook experience, who can become a plug-and-play member of our fast-paced team.

Requirements:
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Must be able to work standing for the entire duration of the shift.
• Must be able to lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for 8 hours, including the entire shift.
• Must be able to reach, bend, twist, and bend at the waist while working on the production line.
• Must be able to follow instructions and complete assigned tasks.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
• Must have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:

• Set up workstations with all necessary ingredients and tools needed for preparing sandwiches
• Prepare stations with stocking prepped food items into the Olmo organizational system
• Cook food by following procedures that involve preparing ingredients, measuring them, and cooking them in various combinations according to the recipe.
• Read tickets and build sandwiches according to recipes

Pay starts at $17/hr guaranteed, plus tips, which average $5-7/hr. Growth opportunities exist for future hourly pay increases.

This position would be part-time during the summer, with additional hours available once the school year begins. This position is ideal for people with another primary source of income looking to add a couple morning/day shifts to their schedule, interested in expanding their skill set, or looking for a position they can grow into and absorb additional shifts in the future.
