Production Line Lead Person - 1st shift (5:30am)

Our growth has created immediate needs for the following positions:
Position: Line Lead
Reports to: Production Supervisor
Summary: As a Line Lead I at Sugar Bowl Bakery, you will be responsible for overseeing the mixing or packing area on the line. You will lead our production team to ensure all product and processes meet quality, company, and customer standards.
Responsibility or Job/Duty Description:
- Provides direction and guidance for one line of mixing or packing team members in order to meet and exceed productivity goals, safely, while maintaining a positive work environment.
- Ensures that production line equipment is properly set up and that all other functions are carried out prior to the start of production.
- Verifies and controls standard weights, maintains proper coding and reports any substandard equipment problems.
- Oversees line activities so that safety, quality, sanitation, procedures and requirements meet standards.
- Identifies and resolves production line problems in a timely manner.
- Performs recordkeeping tasks, including consumption reports, production logs, and pre-shift/post shift duties.
- Fills in for area employees who are on break or on a leave of absence.
- Trains and leads new production line employees.
- Collaborates with quality, maintenance, sanitation, warehouse and other departments to ensure that orders are completed on time.
- Ensures compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Maintains a positive working environment through collaboration, professionalism, and effective communication.
- Maintains a clean, sanitary, and organized work area.
- Demonstrates and adheres to all employee safety, human resources, food safety, and quality requirements, including but not limited to understanding the proper use of PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) and plant specific GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices).
Minimum Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- High School diploma / or GED.
- 1 year food manufacturing lead or supervisory experience required.
- 1 year of manufacturing equipment experience
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to follow and lead a team on safety regulations, use safety equipment, and wear proper Personal Protect Equipment (PPE).
- Ability to collaborate, organize, train, and motivate a diverse and inclusive team and provide feedback.
- Ability to comprehend and follow instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while solving problems and managing time effectively
- Computer skills - Data entry
- Windows, Excel, Basic typing skills and basic math skills, PowerPoint a plus.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Minimum Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs. frequently, must be able to work entire shift on feet, and must be able to push 55 lbs. occasionally
