Education: Master’s degree in Education, Literacy, Curriculum Development, or a related field.
Experience: 5–7 years of experience in literacy and education programs in Pakistan, preferably at the primary level.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the development of a Grade 1 literacy instruction package in Urdu including student books and teacher guides.
- Facilitate the formation and management of a Curriculum Development Committee (CDC) composed of literacy and education experts.
- Assist the CDC in development and adaptation of literacy instructional materials and training modules to align with the Pakistani curriculum and multilingual context.
- Ensure timely development of student and teacher materials.
- Oversee the review and adaptation of training and coaching tools for effective delivery at scale.
- Support the development of student progress tracking and assessment tools.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Room to Read, government education departments, and other stakeholders for literacy program coordination.
- Monitor project progress against timelines and deliverables; lead documentation, reporting, and donor updates.
- Assist with logistical coordination for workshops, including identifying venues, arranging for transportation, etc.
- Contribute to sustainability planning and scaling strategies in collaboration with government partners.
Skills & Competencies:
- Proven experience in managing curriculum development and instructional design projects.
- Strong understanding of Pakistan’s education system, including provincial curriculum variations.
- Experience in leading cross-functional teams and engaging with government education departments.
- Familiarity with child-centered pedagogy, phonics instruction, and formative assessment practices.
- Strong project management, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English and Urdu; knowledge of regional languages will be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel across project locations in Pakistan.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural and collaborative team environment.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with diverse stakeholders, including field staff and policymakers.
- Excellent facilitation and capacity-building skills.
Pay: Rs100,000.00 - Rs150,000.00 per month
