About the Role
This 30+ hour hybrid role is split evenly between:

Bookseller: Working on the sales floor at Kramers, helping customers, recommending books, and contributing to the daily tasks of the bookstore.

Social Media Content Creator: Creating, editing, and posting engaging content across Kramers' social platforms (Instagram, Website/blog, and TikTok), with a focus on trends, books, and community.

Events/PR: Lining up and organizing events; maintaining relationships with publicists and publishers; publicizing said events
Bookseller Responsibilities

Restocking books (shelving) and non-book gift items
-
Reconcile inventory
-
Provide customer service at the register; both ringing customer's purchases and assisting with customer needs
-
It is critical that the candidate reads a wide range of books to include both fiction and non-fiction
Social MediaContent Responsibilities
-
Create original photo and video content for Kramers' social media platforms
-
Edit short-form videos (Reels, Stories, etc.) within brand guidelines
-
Capture in-store moments, books, events, and atmosphere
-
Write blog posts for Kramers website and support with weekly email newsletter
-
Stay up to date on social media trends, formats, and cultural moments
Events and Publisher PR

Coordinate with publishers, publicists and bookstore staff to schedule author talks/signings
-
Develop relationships with off-site venues for larger-sized engagements (Dupont Underground, etc)

Promote events on social media, with local press, and online markets
-
Aid in organizing larger events
-
Maintain lists of contacts for publicists, authors, and more
-
Work closely with bookstore staff to preserve and forward Kramers' brand and identity
What We're Looking For

A genuine love of books and bookstores
-
A strong interest in social media, content creation, and digital storytelling
-
Comfortable with filming, editing videos and photos using iPhone level editing tools
-
Awareness of current social media trends (you're chronically online)
-
Familiarity with book trends, BookTok/Bookstagram culture, and reader communities
-
Ability to balance creative work with in-store responsibilities
-
Organized, reliable, and comfortable working independently and collaboratively
Bonus Points

Experience working in a bookstore, library, or literary space

Experience managing or contributing to brand social media accounts

Experience with being a micro-influencer

On camera experience
