Position Details

We are seeking a Litigation Counsel to join our growing Americas Legal team, working alongside experienced professionals across legal, compliance, risk, and business functions. This position will report to the Head of Litigation and Regulatory, North America.

The Litigation Counsel will be responsible for managing litigation, internal investigations, and regulatory enforcement matters across the Americas, with a primary focus on the United States, and additional support for Canada and Mexico as needed. The ideal candidate will play a key role in advising on legal risks, developing enforcement strategies, and partnering closely with internal stakeholders and global legal colleagues to proactively mitigate disputes and protect the company’s interests in a dynamic regulatory environment.


Responsibilities

● Manage and coordinate a range of litigation and enforcement matters, including commercial disputes, regulatory investigations, and enforcement actions.

● Support, oversee, and conduct internal investigations into potential legal, policy, or compliance violations across jurisdictions.

● Collaborate with external counsel to develop and implement efficient and effective litigation and defense strategies aligned with company objectives.

● Develop and execute strategies to mitigate litigation risk and regulatory exposure.

● Support litigation readiness initiatives, including document retention protocols, e-discovery, and response processes.

● Provide practical and strategic legal advice to stakeholders across Legal, Risk, Compliance, and business functions.

● Monitor and report on emerging litigation and enforcement trends impacting the financial services and fintech sectors in North America.

● Collaborate cross-functionally and globally to ensure consistent legal risk management and case resolution approaches.

● Assist in preparing regulatory responses and supporting documentation in connection with enforcement or supervisory inquiries.


Required Experience and Qualifications

● J.D., qualified to practice law in the U.S., with strong academic credentials.

● 7–10+ years of relevant legal experience at a top-tier law firm, regulatory/government agency (e.g., DOJ, SEC, FTC, CFTC), or in-house at a financial institution or fintech company.

● Strong litigation background, particularly in financial services-related disputes, enforcement actions, and internal investigations.

● Demonstrated ability to assess legal and reputational risks in complex or ambiguous situations.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-border and multicultural teams.


Preferred Qualifications

● Prior in-house experience within financial services or at a government agency.

● Familiarity with North American regulatory enforcement frameworks and institutions.

● Experience navigating multicultural and cross-border work environments.


The base salary for this full-time role is USD$160,000 - $264,000 per year, and the total compensation includes bonus, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Ant deems important.
