Description

Womble Bond Dickinson (US) LLP is seeking a Litigation Docket Manager to join it's team. This role would direct firmwide docketing operations and calendaring processes, as well as, lead and mentor docket professionals across multiple offices. The Litigation Docket Manager would develop and enforce policies to minimize litigation risk and prioritize filing deadlines. Occasional travel is required for this job.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct firmwide docketing operations and calendaring processes.
  • Oversee daily escalations and ensure timely resolution of complex docketing matters.
  • Ensure adherence to jurisdictional rules, including federal, state, appellate, and local requirements.
  • Review department procedures and implement operational best practices.
  • Develop and enforce policies to minimize litigation risk and protect filing deadlines.
  • Coordinate with Risk Management and General Counsel on procedural compliance and incident response.
  • Audit system accuracy, reporting, and deadline control procedures.
  • Serve as primary liaison with IT and vendors for docket software administration and upgrades.
  • Lead implementation, enhancement, and adoption of rules‑based docketing platforms.
  • Evaluate and integrate supplemental technologies (PacerPro, ECFx, DMS platforms).
  • Identify opportunities for automation and workflow efficiencies.
  • Provide guidance to attorneys and paralegals on docket accuracy, rules interpretation, and calendaring protocol.
  • Conduct firmwide docketing training and onboarding for legal professionals.
  • Maintain current awareness of rule changes and ensure timely system updates.
  • Lead and mentor docket professionals across multiple offices, including Senior Analysts and Docket Administrator.
  • Establish performance expectations, conduct evaluations, and oversee professional development.
  • Partner with HR and senior leadership on staffing, training, succession planning, and team culture.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced litigation background required, bachelor’s degree preferred 10+ years of litigation docketing experience, including 5 years in supervisory role.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, as well as document
  • management.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, reliability, outstanding organizational skills, and ability to learn new technology.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and interact effectively with all levels of personnel.
  • Exceptional computer skills, with the ability to learn and apply new software applications quickly.

COMPENSATION: The national average salary range for this role is $70,000 - $140,000. Starting salary will be determined based on location, qualifications, and experience.
