Litigation Manager

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all litigation cases involving the company, including:
  • Real estate disputes (ownership, registration, possession, eviction)
  • Contractor and construction disputes
  • Buyer and investor claims
  • Commercial and contractual disputes
  • Develop case strategies and supervise their execution from filing through final judgment and enforcement.
  • Represent the company before Egyptian courts with all its degrees & stages (economic, civil, administrative, etc.) where applicable.
  • Review and draft pleadings, appeals, and legal submissions, etc.
  • Monitor court proceedings, deadlines, and procedural compliance.
  • Appoint, manage, and evaluate external law firms and litigation counsel.
  • Review legal opinions and ensure alignment with company strategy.
  • Control and optimize litigation budgets and legal expenses.
  • Lead negotiations for settlement of disputes to minimize financial and operational impact.
  • Advise management on risk exposure and settlement options.
  • Handle arbitration cases and alternative dispute resolution mechanisms where applicable.
  • Oversee execution of court judgments, including debt recovery and enforcement actions.
  • Coordinate with enforcement authorities and bailiffs.
  • Manage legal actions related to bounced cheques, payment defaults, and installment disputes.
  • Analyze litigation trends and recurring disputes to identify root causes.
  • Provide recommendations to internal departments (sales, development, contracts) to reduce future disputes.
  • Review contracts and policies from a disputes perspective.
  • Handle disputes with governmental authorities (e.g., licensing, land allocation, zoning).
  • Represent the company before administrative courts and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare periodic litigation reports for senior management, including:
  • Case status updates
  • Financial exposure and provisions
  • Success rates and risk assessments
  • Maintain proper documentation and litigation tracking systems.
  • Lead and mentor in-house litigation lawyers (if applicable).
  • Ensure high standards of legal practice and professional development within the team.


Qualifications:

  • Education: LL.B. from an Egyptian university; LL.M. or relevant postgraduate studies preferred.
  • Bar Admission: Must be registered as an Appeal or Cassation Lawyer with the Egyptian Bar Association.
  • Experience: 12–15+ years of legal experience, with a heavy focus on Real Estate, Construction, and Commercial litigation in Egypt.
  • Court Expertise: Proven track record before Economic, Civil, and Administrative (State Council) courts.
  • Technical Skills: Expert drafting of pleadings/appeals in formal Arabic.
  • Languages: Native-level Arabic (legal technicality).
