Vetrano, Jr., LLC. As a Litigation Paralegal, you will play a vital role in assisting our attorneys with case management, research, document preparation, and client interaction. Our firm handles divorce and family law cases in each and all of the counties that surround our home office located in beautiful Beacon, NY. At the Law Office of Dennis R. Vetrano, Jr., LLC, also referred to as DRV LAW, we fully embrace the “team approach” to the practice of law. Each paralegal is paired with experienced family law attorneys to manage their calendar, assist with legal writing/research and act as a liaison to the client. Our paralegals are an integral part of our legal team providing legal and client relation support to our attorneys so they can thrive in this area of law. Additionally, the DRV LAW staff is supported by a top of the craft, website company and marketing firm as well as full time IT support. At the Law Office of Dennis R. Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in all phases of the litigation process, from initial client intake to trial preparation and post-trial activities.
  • Conduct thorough legal research using various resources to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Organize and manage case documents, including indexing, coding, and preparing trial exhibits.
  • Draft and edit legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, affidavits, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate with clients to gather necessary information, maintain communication, and provide updates on case progress.
  • Schedule and arrange meetings, depositions, and court appearances, while ensuring all necessary documentation is prepared.
  • Assist in preparing witnesses for depositions, hearings, and trial testimony.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case files, both in physical and electronic formats.
  • Handle administrative tasks, including billing, timekeeping, and maintaining the firm's case management system.
  • Stay current with legal trends, rules, and regulations affecting the litigation process.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and paralegal certificate from an ABA approved program.
  • 5 years of experience working as a litigation paralegal handling all aspects of divorce and family law cases including, but not limited to pleadings, legal research, client and/or witness preparation and interviews, legal drafting of correspondence, subpoenas, orders, discovery, motions, and scheduling and maintaining attorney calendars.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools, such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and legal terminology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong multitasking skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Professionalism and the ability to maintain client confidentiality.
