Litigation Paralegal

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will provide essential support to attorneys handling a diverse range of litigation matters, ensuring smooth case progression from inception through resolution. Your expertise in legal research, document management, and case coordination will be instrumental in delivering exceptional service to our clients. Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including case preparation, discovery, and trial support
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other legal research tools on topics such as estate planning, environmental law, UCC law, tribal law & regulations, patent law, and securities law
  • Draft and review legal documents such as pleadings, motions, contracts, and discovery requests with precision and clarity
  • Manage case files using document management systems like iManage and PCLaw; ensure all documents are organized and up-to-date
  • Perform thorough document review and proofreading to ensure accuracy before filing or submission
  • Coordinate interviews with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather pertinent information for cases
  • Maintain effective communication with clients, courts, and external agencies while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and organizational skills

Qualifications

  • Paralegal experience with a strong understanding of litigation processes and legal administrative practices
  • Proficiency in legal research platforms including Westlaw and LexisNexis
  • Familiarity with various areas of law such as family law, landlord-tenant law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, immigration law, and project management skills for handling multiple cases efficiently
  • Experience with legal case management software like iManage or PCLaw; ability to adapt to new systems quickly
  • Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents and correspondence; excellent proofreading and transcription abilities
  • Knowledge of document review procedures and data entry accuracy in filing systems
  • Ability to handle administrative tasks such as filing, organizing case files, managing deadlines, and providing executive administrative support when needed
  • Exceptional organizational skills combined with attention to detail; ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
