Live in health companion needed for a senior

Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Health Companion to provide exceptional care and support to a senior individual in a home setting. This vital role involves offering personalized assistance with daily activities, ensuring safety, and promoting overall well-being. Duties

• Provide comprehensive patient observation to monitor health status, behavior, and safety
• Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
• Monitor vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration regularly
• Assist with meal preparation, light cleaning, laundry, and household chores to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
• Use medical terminology appropriately when recording observations or communicating with healthcare professionals
• Respond promptly to emergency situations by performing CPR or other first aid procedures as needed
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate home health services and ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Proven experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments with long-term care experience preferred
• Strong skills in patient observation, medication administration, and medical documentation
• Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice support, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities recommended.
• Certification in CPR is mandatory; additional certifications such as HIPAA training or hospice care certification are advantageous
• Ability to work independently in a live-in setting while maintaining professionalism and compassion
• Excellent communication skills for working effectively with seniors, family members, and healthcare teams
