Live-In Household Assistant — San Rafael | $40/hr + Private Room

We're looking for a kind, reliable, and engaging person to join a busy family on the water in San Rafael as a live-in household assistant. This is an opportunity to live in a beautiful, sun-filled home while supporting an active family of three.

The Arrangement:

This is a live-in role that's intended to be structured as a net positive arrangement: the $1,000/month rent cost is offset by working 20 hours per week at $40/hr. It's designed for someone who values a flexible, low-overhead lifestyle with a sense of purpose built in.

Students, educators, caregivers, veterans, and young professionals are especially encouraged to apply.

About the Home & Host:

Our host is a busy family of three that includes a toddler and senior dog. The family is incredibly active and can often be found driving from one activity to the next. They are looking for someone who loves kids and has the time, energy, and capacity to help them stay organized.

Ideally you are:

Energetic and warm with a lot of flexibility in your schedule to support the busy ebb and flow of an active household. Ideally you are someone who loves kids and can grow to become a part of the family.

Key qualification:

Must be available Mon-Fri from 3:30pm-6:30pm to assist with taking the kids to/from activities. Availability in the mornings for drop-off at 8:30am is a HUGE plus.

Highlighted Tasks:

• Taking out the compost and garbage
• Taking the kids to and from activities
• Actively playing and engaging with the kids
• Cleaning, organizing, and managing the home
• Dog sitting
• Caring for a toddler

Highlighted Characteristics:

• Hyper flexibility: can edit schedules and react quickly
• High trust, high competence with kids, including driving
• Willing to shift minimum hours during family travel
• Tidy and proactive, anticipates needs
• Good with dogs
