Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Load Planner to build, optimize, and schedule freight loads within LWT's TMS. You will utilize TMS tools to maximize load capacity, ensure load stability, and plan efficient routes, including designated fuel stops to minimize costs. You will work hand in hand with dispatchers and managers to match loads with drivers, requiring strong analytical skills, logistics software proficiency, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • TMS Utilization: Building loads and managing freight data within Strategy Live.
  • Route/Fuel Planning: Determining the most fuel-efficient routes and planning stops.
  • Planning & Scheduling: Assign daily loads to drivers, focusing on on-time delivery and reducing non-productive, empty miles

(deadhead).

  • Communication: Coordinate with drivers and customer service teams to resolve issues and provide updates.
  • Compliance & Safety: Ensure all loads comply with weight regulations, safety standards, and documentation requirements.
  • Technology Utilization: Use TMS and software to monitor shipments, track loads, and optimize routes.
  • Back Up: Provide back up to dispatchers when you have idle time or other jobs that may be assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and TMS/ERP software.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with drivers, interact with dispatchers and team members to

resolve data discrepancies.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle unexpected logistical challenges.
  • Proficiency: High school diploma or equivalent, with strong computer skills (spreadsheets, basic software).
  • Accuracy & Speed: High attention to detail and fast, accurate typing skills.
  • Organization: Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency: High school diploma or equivalent, with strong computer skills (spreadsheets, basic software).
