Loader Operator/Laborer for Gravel Screening Operation

Job Overview:
Rocky Mountain Landscape Materials is seeking a dedicated Equipment Operator and Laborer to join our team. As a key member of our pit operations, you will be responsible for operating heavy equipment and conducting labor intensive work in a safe and effective manner. All employees must adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by the Mine and Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) as required under Rocky Mountain Landscape Materials, LLC.

Responsibilities:

• Operate machinery or equipment as trained in a smooth professional manner consisting of: Loading trucks, Maintaining roads, ponds and storm water drainage areas, Hauling material to crushing or screening equipment, Stockpiling.
• Perform start up and shutdown checks and monitor gauges and alarms on equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
• Change screens, belts, bearings, wear parts, check oil levels in gear boxes and machinery. Shoveling, trash cleanup, cleaning under and around screen plants.
• Keep track of hours on the screen plants and loaders.
• Keep track of bucket counts for quantity tracking.
• Follow directions and communicate with other crew members.
• Be aware of other hazards in the quarry area such as other equipment and truck traffic.
• Loading, moving, digging, scooping, leveling dirt, sand, and gravel using appropriate equipment and manual tools (pick, shovel, or rake).
• Lift, carry, load, and unload tools and supplies.

When not performing the above mentioned essential duties and responsibilities, may assist in other operations as designated by supervisor.

• Occasionally hold and/or walk with items weighing 30 – 50 lbs at or below your waist, for 3 – 5 minutes at a time.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to:

• Outside weather conditions
• Moving mechanical parts and equipment
• Occasionally exposed to high places
• The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: $22 - $26 per hour

Expected Hours: 40 (+) Hours Per Week, Frequent Mandatory Overtime during busy season.
