Loan Officer Assistant

Duties

  • Assist loan officers with loan origination processes, including gathering client documentation and verifying information
  • Prepare and review loan applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness in accordance with FNMA (Fannie Mae) guidelines and TILA (Truth in Lending Act) regulations
  • Support underwriting teams by providing necessary financial data and performing basic credit analysis to evaluate borrower eligibility
  • Coordinate with mortgage servicing departments to ensure timely processing of escrow accounts and compliance with Fair Housing regulations
  • Manage loan processing tasks such as verifying employment, income, assets, and debt details using basic math and 10-key typing skills
  • Maintain organized records of contracts, disclosures, and other legal documents related to loans
  • Communicate effectively with clients, lenders, and internal teams to facilitate smooth loan transactions and ensure adherence to banking standards

Skills

  • Strong understanding of FNMA guidelines, underwriting procedures, and mortgage servicing practices
  • Experience in loan origination, processing, or assisting within a financial services environment
  • Knowledge of Fair Housing regulations and TILA requirements to ensure compliance
  • Proficiency in credit analysis, basic math calculations, escrow procedures, and contract review
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
  • Familiarity with banking operations, mortgage contracts, and the use of 10-key typing for data entry
  • Ability to interpret financial documents accurately while adhering to regulatory standards
