Local Intermodal Driver (Weekends Only)

Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently within designated routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, timely deliveries, and excellent customer service. The Local Driver will operate various types of vehicles, including tractor-trailers and refrigerated trailers, ensuring that all freight is handled with care.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a truck or delivery vehicle to transport goods to various locations.
• Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling of all items.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage, fuel use, and delivery times.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
• Operate manual transmission vehicles as required.
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the vehicle.

Requirements

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements (tanker endorsement preferred).
• Proven experience in truck driving or commercial driving, particularly with refrigerated trailers or tractor-trailers.
• Strong knowledge of local routes and traffic patterns.
• Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
• Ability to operate both manual transmission vehicles and automatic vehicles.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
• Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and customers.

Pay: $29.00 - $33.00 per hour
