Local Truck Driver

Kellex Corporation is hiring a Local Truck Driver in our Valdese, NC location.

BASIC FUNCTION

Drive a straight truck, to deliver products or materials.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Shipping Duties

• Strap unit as needed.
• Cover unit with protective padding.
• Exercise care and follow the proper safety procedures to prevent injuries to themselves and their co-workers.
• Assist in any other area, as needed when not on a delivery. Will work in the Shipping Dept.
• Must demonstrate good housekeeping abilities.

Trucking duties

• Read and be familiar with all customer orders, shipping receipts, purchase orders for each scheduled delivery or pick-up.
• Will drive truck to destination, always inspecting truck for defects before and after each trip; submitting a report as needed.
• Maintain driver logs according to I.C.C. regulations and complete bill of lading, way bills, inspections reports, driving log, trip report, container return reports and/or any other paperwork as required; always assuring accuracy of reporting.
• Position requires lifting and unloading of trailer. With the ability to lift in excess of 50 lbs.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High School graduate preferred

Maintain Class A License, Clean Driving Record, Subject to Criminal Background / Drug Screen. RECENT driving experience is a must.
