About the Role

We’re seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to provide 24-hour call coverage in West Jordan, Utah. This ongoing locum tenens assignment begins January 2, 2026 and runs through December 31, 2026.

Providers will rotate 7 shifts per month total across the locums pool, covering two sites concurrently.

Position Details

• Start Date: January 2, 2026
• End Date: December 31, 2026
• Schedule: 24-hour call (7a–7a); approx. 7 shifts per month shared among locums
• Weekend Requirements: Yes
• Call: Yes (inpatient + procedures)
• Procedures: Primarily EGD and colonoscopy; PEG tube placements, double balloon enteroscopy, push enteroscopy
• Average Callbacks: 4–5 procedures per call shift
• EMR: Epic
• Support Staff: MA, RN, Echo Tech, Lab Tech, Nuclear Tech, X-ray Tech
• Credentialing Timeframe: 60 days (UT license required to begin process)

Requirements

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology (fellowship required)
• Active Utah medical license (highly preferred)
• Active DEA (must be maintained throughout assignment; site may accept transfer)
• Active BLS (required for credentialing)
• Clean malpractice and background (preferred; priority given to clean files)
• Must provide specific availability for Jan–Mar 2026 and monthly shift commitments starting April 2026
• Must complete EMR training (modules, EUPA test, and virtual training) prior to start date

Facility Details

• Setting: Inpatient, Level III Trauma Center
• Support: Anesthesia available in OR
• Volume: Approx. 4–5 procedures per call shift
• Reason for Coverage: Gaps in existing coverage
