Key Objectives

· Ensure timely, cost-effective transport, storage and delivery of building materials to meet customer, project and warehouse requirements.

· Plan and coordinate inbound shipments (local) of building materials: liaise with suppliers and, transporters.

· Manage outbound deliveries: schedule truck/trailer dispatch, ensure delivery to job-sites or customer locations, track bills of lading, delivery notes, proof of delivery.

· Maintain warehouse operations: receiving, inspection, storage, labelling, inventory accuracy, FIFO/FEFO where required, handle special storage (e.g. hazardous, bulky, long lengths).

· Monitor inventory levels: identify slow-moving or excess stock, trigger replenishment, report shortages or critical items.

· Work closely with warehouse, transport, site teams, sales and customer service to ensure seamless flow of materials and high customer satisfaction.

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of logistics operations: transport, warehousing, inventory, shipment tracking.
  • Understanding of building material characteristics – e.g., weight/volume, handling requirements, packaging, storage hazards.
  • Vendor / carrier management skills: negotiate with transporters, monitor service levels.
  • Communication skills: liaise with internal teams, suppliers, transporters, site/contractor teams.

Working Conditions

  • warehouse/yard presence; some site visits may be required (job-site deliveries, material inspection).
  • Coordination with early/late/shifted delivery schedules (especially for construction sites).
  • May require working beyond normal hours when shipments/urgent deliveries demand.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with building Materials related field Experience.
  • Ideally 2-5 years’ experience in logistics/transport/warehouse operations — experience in building materials, construction supplies or trading is a strong advantage.
  • Good understanding of transport operations in UAE/GCC region.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word), and experience with logistics/ERP system (SAP, Oracle, or similar) is preferred.
  • Problem-solving mindset, attention to detail, ability to analyses logistics data and make operational improvements.
