JOB PURPOSE:
The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day movement of goods within the retail supply chain, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of stock from suppliers to warehouses and stores. This role involves tracking shipments, coordinating with vendors and internal teams, managing documentation, and ensuring logistics operations comply with schedules, cost controls, and company standards.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- 3–5 years of logistics or supply chain experience, preferably in a retail, FMCG, or distribution environment.
- Experience in import/export coordination and documentation handling is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in logistics software and ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Strong Excel skills (tracking, reporting, analysis).
- Knowledge of customs procedures, shipping terms (Incoterms), and freight booking.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipment Coordination:
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery to warehouses or stores.
- Book transportation and liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, and warehouse teams.
- Track shipment movement and provide regular updates to internal stakeholders.
Documentation & Compliance:
- Prepare and verify shipping documents, invoices, packing lists, and customs clearance paperwork.
- Ensure all logistics activities comply with local import/export regulations and internal policies.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of all shipment-related documents.
Vendor & Transport Coordination:
- Communicate with local and international suppliers on delivery schedules and shipment readiness.
- Liaise with transport companies to arrange pickups, deliveries, and warehouse drop-offs.
- Resolve issues related to delays, damaged goods, or incorrect shipments.
Inventory & Reporting Support:
- Monitor and report in-transit stock, delivery timelines, and any discrepancies.
- Assist inventory team in reconciling stock received vs. stock ordered.
- Prepare weekly logistics performance reports for review by the Logistics Manager.
Operational Support:
- Support seasonal logistics planning, sale campaign deliveries, and new store openings.
- Coordinate reverse logistics for returns or defective goods.
- Collaborate with warehouse and store teams to improve delivery accuracy and efficiency.
