Position: Logistics Coordinator

General Purpose of Position: The Logistics Coordinator will provide support for rail car fleets to shipping locations and customers. This includes ensuring business unit obligations for timely delivery of rail volumes across business lines and also includes effective management of both loaded/empty railcars ensuring optimal cost/fleet savings. The position will also identify and implement cost saving/efficiency improvements and strategies.
Essential Job Duties:

Coordinate and manage the daily movement of frac sand via railcars from origin mines to destination transload facilities and end users

Monitor railcar cycles, transit times, and dwell times to ensure optimal asset utilization

Track railcar locations using railroad systems (e.g., CN, UP, NS, BNSF) and third-party tracking platforms

Proactively identify and resolve delays, misroutes, or service interruptions with rail carriers

Issue railcar release instructions, diversions, and reconsignments as needed

Manage inbound and outbound rail schedules to align with customer demand and inventory levels
-
Coordinate railcar loading/unloading schedules with facilities to avoid congestion and delays

Monitor real-time inventory levels across multiple terminals, transloads, and customer locations

Serve as primary point of contact for customers regarding shipments, inventory, and delivery schedules

Communicate proactively with suppliers, railroads, and transload operators to ensure alignment
-
Provide shipment updates, ETAs, and issue resolution in real time

Coordinate with sales and operations teams to meet customer demand and service expectations

Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers and vendors

Cross-functional support for supply chain, sales, procurement, operations and accounting

Support audits and regulatory reporting requirements

Bachelor’s degree required

Two plus years of logistics experience required

Freight Billing, Pricing, and Documentation Knowledge preferred

Ability to maintain organization and focus when facing multiple requests and changing priorities

Ability to use critical and logical thinking in high pressure environment

Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and ensure completion of tasks in effective and satisfactory manner

Strong knowledge in Microsoft suite of tools
Environment: Position will be primarily located in an office environment. Position will primarily take place seated at a desk and will be indoors in a controlled environment. Exposure to noise elements typical of an office environment.
