Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Logistics Dispatcher/Transportation Dispatcher to coordinate and manage the efficient movement of freight and shipments. Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily transportation activities by assigning freight loads to drivers and carriers based on delivery schedules, vehicle availability, and route optimization.
• Utilize transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to track shipments, update statuses, and manage data entry accurately.
• Monitor GPS and GIS tools to oversee fleet locations in real-time, ensuring adherence to routes and schedules while adjusting plans as needed for traffic or unforeseen delays.
• Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, 3PL providers, and customers via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette.
• Maintain detailed records of shipping & receiving transactions, dispatch logs, incident reports, and delivery confirmations using AS400 or similar platforms.
• Analyze transportation data to identify inefficiencies or delays; implement solutions to improve overall logistics performance.
• Support shipping & receiving operations by coordinating freight movements, managing fleet management tasks, and assisting with inventory updates in SyteLine.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS technology, and transportation planning tools to optimize routes and monitor fleet locations.
• Proficiency with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and AS400 for data entry, tracking shipments, and reporting.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally while demonstrating strong phone etiquette.
• Analysis skills to interpret logistics data for continuous improvement in freight efficiency and delivery accuracy.
• Experience with dispatching freight across various modes of transportation within a supply chain environment.
• Familiarity with shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management practices, and 3PL (third-party logistics) coordination.
• Competence in using transportation planning software like SyteLine or similar ERP systems for inventory control and order processing.
• Ability to operate GPS devices, GIS platforms, and other logistics technology tools effectively for real-time decision-making.
• Strong typing skills for quick data entry alongside attention to detail in documentation processes such as incident reports or delivery logs.
