Logistics Manager

Summary

The Logistics Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, scheduling, and movement of assets to ensure seamless execution across JANSON’s projects. This individual will be able to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines across concurrent projects.

This individual will coordinate logistics activities across design, production, fabrication, and installation teams to maintain project schedules, manage risk, and ensure materials and equipment are delivered efficiently and on time. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic environment, demonstrates operational discipline, and has a proven ability to synchronize multiple moving parts across locations. A former Army or Marine Logistics Sergeant First Class (E-7) or Master Sergeant (E-8) would be ideal.

Scheduling & Coordination

  • Develop, maintain, and update logistics schedules aligned with overall project timelines.
  • Coordinate with project managers, procurement, and fabrication teams to ensure all materials and assets are available when needed.
  • Monitor daily and weekly activities to ensure on-time delivery and installation readiness.

Asset & Inventory Management

  • Oversee the movement and tracking of assets—both CONUS and OCONUS—as they move between design, fabrication, and installation sites.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and shipment records, including vendor deliveries and returns.
  • Ensure storage, shipping, and handling methods meet safety and quality standards.

Transportation & Vendor Oversight

  • Plan and manage transportation logistics, including shipping schedules, carrier coordination, and load planning.
  • Liaise with external vendors, freight companies, and warehouse teams to confirm schedules, routes, and delivery expectations.
  • Negotiate rates and terms to optimize costs while maintaining quality and reliability.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks to schedules, deliveries, or asset integrity.
  • Communicate proactively with leadership when delays or issues arise, proposing viable alternatives.

Reporting & Process Improvement

  • Develop reports on logistics performance and asset/product movement accuracy.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and implement improvements to increase speed, reliability, and transparency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience managing logistics, scheduling, or asset coordination in a project-driven environment (preferably government or defense).
  • Strong knowledge of logistics, shipping documentation, and asset management.
  • Proficiency in scheduling and project management tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines across concurrent projects.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
