Role Summary

The Logistics Manager is responsible for the overall supply chain management, including the planning, coordination, and execution of inbound and outbound logistics. This role ensures the efficient, cost-effective, and timely movement of goods from suppliers to customers while maintaining high safety and quality standards. The Logistics Manager leads a team of coordinators, warehouse staff, and drivers, and works cross-functionally to optimize inventory flow, reduce transportation costs, and improve delivery performance.

Key Responsibilities1. Operations Management

  • Oversee daily logistics operations including transportation, warehousing, inventory control, and distribution.
  • Develop and implement logistics policies, procedures, and KPIs to maximize efficiency.
  • Manage shipment scheduling, route planning, and carrier selection for domestic and/or international shipments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to customers, retail locations, or production lines.

2. Team Leadership

  • Supervise, train, and mentor logistics coordinators, warehouse leads, and third-party logistics (3PL) partners.
  • Conduct performance reviews, set team goals, and foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate shift schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.

3. Cost & Vendor Management

  • Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, freight forwarders, and 3PL providers.
  • Monitor logistics spend, analyze freight bills, and identify cost-saving opportunities (e.g., route optimization, mode shifting).
  • Manage vendor relationships and conduct periodic performance audits.

4. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international transportation regulations (e.g., DOT, OSHA, customs).
  • Maintain proper documentation for shipments: BOLs, packing lists, customs paperwork, and hazardous material declarations (if applicable).
  • Implement safety protocols for loading, unloading, and material handling.

5. Technology & Data Analysis

  • Use Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to track shipments and inventory.
  • Generate reports on logistics KPIs: on-time delivery, cost per unit, transit times, and damage rates.
  • Identify process bottlenecks and lead continuous improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).

6. Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate with procurement, sales, and customer service teams to forecast demand and plan capacity.
  • Manage reverse logistics for returns, repairs, or recycling in coordination with customer support.
  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counting and reconciliation.

Qualifications & RequirementsEducation & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations.
  • 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.

Technical Skills

  • Proficiency with WMS, TMS, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of freight classes, Incoterms, customs regulations, and shipping documentation.
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis).
  • Familiarity with routing software and GPS tracking tools.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Leadership and team-building aptitude.

Pay: QAR68,000.00 - QAR80,000.00 per year
