Job Overview:
The Logistics Project Manager is responsible for leading regional logistics projects, optimizing transportation processes, and ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective movement of materials and finished goods across the supply chain. This role plays a critical part in developing, implementing, and maintaining logistics programs, carrier strategies, and continuous improvement initiatives that support business growth, customer service performance, and cost control.
In addition, this position owns and executes freight payment and audit activities, ensuring invoice accuracy, timely payment, spend visibility, and strong financial controls while partnering closely with Finance and external freight payment providers.
Responsibilities:
- Lead regional logistics strategic projects involving carriers, third-party logistics providers, and internal cross-functional teams.
- Implement, monitor, and continuously improve logistics programs and processes for efficient movement of materials and finished goods.
- Develop and maintain logistics playbooks, SOPs, transportation policies, and standard business practices.
Support logistics integration and SOP development for new acquisitions.
Freight Payment, Audit & Financial Support (Secondary Focus):
- Own freight invoice audit and payment processes using systems such as Jaggaer, nVision, Basware, and BBA.
- Administer and maintain parcel and freight carrier accounts (DHL, UPS, FedEx, Purolator).
- Ensure accurate invoice matching against purchase orders, tariffs, and negotiated rates.
Investigate unidentified, misclassified, aged, or disputed invoices.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or operations; 3+ years in transportation or logistics management.
- Import and export experience required, strong trade compliance knowledge.
- Working knowledge of freight payment and audit processes.
- Experience with logistics and freight payment systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.
