Logistics Section Head

Job Purpose:
To manage and oversee all logistics activities, including transportation, customs clearance, and delivery, ensuring timely and cost-efficient movement of goods. The role leads logistics teams and external providers, resolves operational issues, and aligns logistics planning with project schedules and business objectives while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
What you’ll do

Lead and manage all logistics functions across transportation, customs clearance, and freight forwarding to ensure timely and cost-effective movement of goods.

Supervise Logistics Supervisors and their teams, setting clear objectives and monitoring performance to achieve departmental KPIs.

Develop and implement logistics strategies aligned with project timelines and company goals, ensuring seamless coordination between logistics functions.

Oversee end-to-end shipment execution, from freight booking to customs clearance and final site delivery, minimizing delays and demurrage.

Prequalify and manage relationships with freight forwarders, clearance agents, and transport companies based on performance and cost-efficiency.

Conduct cost analysis and negotiate logistics contracts to optimize budgets and ensure high service standards.

Coordinate closely with procurement, warehouse, and project teams to align logistics planning with material needs and priorities.

Ensure all logistics operations comply with international trade laws, local customs regulations, and internal policies.

Review and approve key logistics documentation, ensuring accurate records are maintained for audit and project tracking.

Act as the escalation point for logistics issues and delays, resolving challenges with internal and external stakeholders proactively.

Drive continuous improvement in logistics processes, identifying inefficiencies and implementing corrective actions.

Provide regular reporting on logistics performance, shipment status, vendor evaluation, and risk assessments to senior management.
What you'll need

Bachelor’s degree in SCM Logistics or equivalent major.

8-12 years in Logistics with 3 years in Leading position

CSCP, CLTD or related supply chain certifications.
