Logistics Specialist

A Logistics specialist oversees the entire supply chain, managing the efficient transportation, storage, and distribution of goods to meet customer demand while minimizing costs. Key responsibilities include negotiating with carriers, tracking shipments, optimizing inventory levels, managing warehouse operations, and ensuring regulatory compliance. ​

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Transportation and Distribution: Selecting carriers, negotiating freight rates, planning routes, and managing inbound/outbound shipping for timely delivery.
  • Inventory and Warehouse Management: Overseeing inventory accuracy, organizing warehouse space, and managing the flow of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Operational Optimization: Analyzing, reporting, and improving logistics performance data, KPIs, and costs (e.g., implementing cost-saving programs).
  • Customer Service and Compliance: Resolving transportation or supply chain issues, maintaining safety records, and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Strategic Planning: Developing logistics processes, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience: Usually requires a minimum of 4 years UAE experience in logistics, warehouse management, or supply chain roles & able to work independently.
  • Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with strong proficiency in logistics/inventory software.
  • Education: Typically a bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain, or a related field. ​
