Logistics Specialist - Automotive Business
As a Logistics Specialist in Istanbul, Turkey, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and cost‑effective logistics and warehouse operations.
You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to secure high service levels, accurate system data, and strong performance throughout the logistics network.
The role covers inbound and outbound logistics, warehouse coordination, customs documentation, KPI follow‑up, supplier performance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you can expect in the role
Logistics & Warehouse Operations
Ensure safety and compliance in warehouse operations
Maintain minimum stock levels for packaging materials and manage procurement accordingly
Coordinate inbound logistics, including booking, tracking, and cost‑efficient shipment handling
Set up and follow up on outbound logistics flows
Ensure correct bookings and data accuracy in logistics systems (e.g. GIT, ENT, cancelled or rejected items)
Control lead times and planning cycles in coordination with relevant stakeholders
Support warehouse operations by ensuring stock accuracy and correct product identification
Handle returns efficiently and report performance on a regular basis
Customs & Documentation
Control and align customs documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements
Support smooth invoicing processes through accurate system parameters and documentation
Performance & Continuous Improvement
Monitor KPIs and evaluate supplier and 3PL performance
Lead follow‑ups, performance meetings and drive corrective actions
Handle complaints and ensure timely response and resolution
Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean and CI methodologies
Prepare ad‑hoc analyses and reports to demonstrate progress in processes and improvement projects
Cost Management
Optimize logistics, customs and warehouse costs
Deliver at least one cost‑optimization or Lean project per year
Review and approve logistics invoices to ensure timely payments
Quality & EHS
Take necessary actions related to quality issues in 3PL warehouses
Apply quality standards for rejection, acceptance and conditional acceptance
Participate in activities related to ISO 9001:2015 and EHS requirements
You will enjoy working here if you have
A relevant education within logistics, supply chain, or equivalent experience
Hands‑on experience in logistics and warehouse operations
Good understanding of the logistics system SAP, and data accuracy requirements
A structured and analytical approach with strong follow‑up skills
Experience working with suppliers and external service providers
An improvement‑driven mindset with interest in Lean and CI
Good communication skills and ability to work cross‑functionally
Fluency in English, both written and spoken

Some additional information
This position is located at SKF Automotive's site in Istanbul, Turkey.
Employment will be on a local contract; no relocation is approved for this role. Therefore, you need to live in the region and be able to commute to our office several days per week.
You will report to Zeynep Erfan, Regional Sales Manager, Vehicle Aftermarket, who is located in Istanbul, Turkey.
